Russia adds former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to wanted list

Russia has added former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to its wanted list, along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his predecessor Petro Poroshenko. The Russian Interior Ministry’s database listed Tymoshenko on unspecified criminal charges, as reported by Russian state media. Tymoshenko’s party, Batkivshchyna, has not yet commented on the matter.

The list also includes officials and lawmakers from Ukraine and NATO countries, such as Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, who has been advocating for increased military aid to Kyiv and stronger sanctions against Moscow. Russian officials claim that Kallas is wanted due to Estonia’s efforts to remove Soviet-era monuments, which are seen as symbols of past oppression.

Other individuals on the list include cabinet ministers from Estonia and Lithuania, as well as the International Criminal Court prosecutor who prepared a warrant for President Vladimir Putin on war crimes charges. Moscow has also charged the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence for alleged “terrorist” activities, including drone strikes on Russian infrastructure.

Russia has laws against the “rehabilitation of Nazism” and considers the “desecration” of war memorials as punishable offenses. The addition of Tymoshenko to the wanted list reflects ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, as well as broader diplomatic conflicts with NATO member countries.
