Ukraine has put peace talks with Russia on hold after attacking the Kursk region, according to the Russian foreign ministry’s special envoy. German prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian man suspected of sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The governor of Russia’s Belgorod region has declared a state of emergency due to the tense situation. Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, met with a US official to discuss the current situation on the battlefield and defense agreements. Meanwhile, Russian authorities are scrambling to control the situation in Kursk after Ukrainian forces launched a surprise attack, leaving a portion of Russian territory under Kyiv’s control. Despite the ongoing incursion, Ukraine stated that it has no interest in long-term occupation of the region, emphasizing the protection of its people. Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk continues, with Russia reporting the destruction of 117 Ukrainian drones overnight. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Ukrainian forces continue to advance in the region, with 74 communities under Ukrainian control. The situation remains intense as both sides are engaged in military operations in the Kursk region.
