A US military operation in Iraq on Thursday resulted in the deaths of at least 15 Islamic State militants, while six US soldiers sustained injuries, with none being life-threatening. Some soldiers suffered possible traumatic brain injuries and external injuries. The operation, which targeted ISIS leaders in Anbar, western Iraq, involved Iraqi security forces and was aimed at disrupting the group’s ability to plan and carry out attacks on Iraqi civilians, US citizens, allies, and partners. The ISIS operatives were armed with weapons, grenades, and suicide belts. US Central Command stated that there were no civilian casualties, and Iraqi security forces continued to exploit the raided locations.
