Anna “Delvey” Sorokin, a convicted felon known for scamming friends and financial institutions, was eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars” after her quickstep routine failed to impress judges and viewers. Sorokin accused the show of exploiting her for ratings and criticized their judging and viewer voting processes. Despite backlash over her casting, Sorokin insists she is trying to move past her mistakes and regrets. She had to get special permission from ICE to compete in Los Angeles, outside her house arrest radius in New York. Sorokin’s co-host Julianne Hough asked what she would take away from the experience, to which Sorokin humorously responded with “nothing.” She expressed feeling unfairly judged and shamed by the public and critics, despite the showrunner defending her casting. Sorokin’s partner, Ezra Sosa, defended her in a TikTok video, revealing she was upset by the online hate she received. Sorokin, feeling overwhelmed by the negativity directed towards her, mentioned her intention to not keep up with the show as it continues but expressed her hopes for actor Reginald VelJohnson to win. Despite the challenges and criticisms she faced during her brief stint on the show, Sorokin remains focused on starting a new chapter in her life and moving on from her past mistakes.
