The Chicago White Sox suffered their 121st loss of the season, setting a new MLB record for most losses in a season. The team, which won 93 games in 2021, has been on a downward trend with declining win totals in the following seasons. Their offensive struggles have been a major issue, as they rank near the bottom in many statistical categories. Despite a slow start to the season, the White Sox have only managed to win 39 games so far. After a recent loss, the team humorously posted a picture on social media indicating their frustration with negative comments. First baseman Andrew Vaughn has the highest batting average on the team, but it remains low compared to the rest of the league. The White Sox began the season with the worst 25-game start in franchise history and later set a franchise record for losing 21 consecutive games. The team’s poor performance in July and August has contributed to their record-breaking season of losses.
