Former New York Governor David Paterson and his stepson were attacked while on a walk in Manhattan by individuals who had a previous interaction with his stepson. Paterson, 70, and his stepson were both taken to the hospital as a precaution after the attack, but were able to fight off their attackers and suffered only minor injuries. Paterson served as lieutenant governor under Gov. Eliot Spitzer and became governor in 2008 after Spitzer resigned. No arrests have been made in the attack, which is currently under investigation by the police. Both Paterson and his stepson are in stable condition after the incident.
