In Marseille, France, recent drug-related violence has taken a horrifying turn as a 15-year-old boy was stabbed 50 times and burned alive in a case of apparent gang retaliation. The prosecutor revealed that the teenager was hired by a 23-year-old prisoner from the DZ Mafia group to intimidate a rival gang member for a payment of 2,000 euros. However, the teenager was spotted by members of the rival gang, who then brutally attacked and killed him.
Following the failed attack, the same prisoner recruited a 14-year-old to carry out a revenge killing for a promised sum of 50,000 euros. The teenager and another individual boarded a taxi to the location of the planned attack, but when the driver refused to wait for them, the teenager shot and killed him before fleeing the scene.
These incidents highlight the escalating violence and youth involvement in drug-related crimes in Marseille. The city has seen a total of 17 drug-related killings this year, with a shocking 49 deaths reported in 2023 alone. The victims and perpetrators of these crimes remain unnamed, as authorities work to address the troubling trend of violence among young individuals in the region.
The case serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing turf war for control of the lucrative drug market in Marseille, with rival gangs resorting to extreme acts of violence to assert their dominance. Authorities continue to investigate the incidents and work towards curbing the cycle of violence plaguing the city.
