A Frontier flight traveling from San Diego to Las Vegas made a hard landing at Harry Reid International Airport after the pilots detected smoke in the cockpit and declared an emergency. The flight, which was scheduled to land at the airport, experienced flames coming from underneath the aircraft during the landing. The Clark County Fire Department responded immediately and all passengers and crew members were evacuated safely using airstairs and bussed to the terminal. No injuries were reported. The incident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. local time and a ground stop was in effect at the airport until 7 p.m. The cause of the incident is under investigation by the FAA. Video of the incident shows flames and smoke coming from underneath the aircraft on the tarmac, with fire trucks spraying the plane to extinguish the fire.
