West Virginia University senior offensive tackle Wyatt Milum has been named one of seven semifinalists for the Outland Trophy, according to the Football Writers Association of America. The Outland Trophy is awarded annually to the nation’s best college interior lineman on offense or defense. Milum, a native of Kenova, West Virginia, has played in 45 games and started 41 over his four-year career. He has not allowed a sack in 45 of the past 47 games and has been a key component in WVU’s rushing success.
In 2024, Milum has excelled both in pass-blocking and run-blocking, earning high grades from PFF College. He is listed as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation by PFF College and has helped the WVU offense consistently run for at least 140 rushing yards in 24 of its last 26 games. The team is ranked nationally for various rushing statistics, showcasing their offensive line’s effectiveness.
Dan Mozes, a former Mountaineer player, was WVU’s only previous Outland Trophy finalist in 2006. The Outland Trophy winner will be chosen from the finalists who are part of the annual FWAA All-America Team. The recipient will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on ESPN on Dec. 12, with the official presentation scheduled for Jan. 22, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Milum’s stellar performance and reputation as one of the top offensive linemen in the nation make him a strong contender for the Outland Trophy. Fans and supporters can look forward to the final decision in December as Milum vies for this prestigious award.
