Mountaineers Finish Six-Game Homestand Against Lafayette


The No. 13-ranked West Virginia University women’s basketball team is set to face Lafayette in their sixth consecutive home game of the season on Friday at the WVU Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on the Mountaineer Sports Network and ESPN+, with tipoff at 7 p.m. ET.

West Virginia has a perfect record of 5-0 this season and has won 33 straight nonconference home games. Lafayette, with a record of 1-3, is coming off a loss to No. 6 Notre Dame and will be looking to bounce back against the Mountaineers.

Junior guard Jordan Harrison and senior guard JJ Quinerly lead West Virginia in scoring this season, with Harrison also ranking 21st in the country in assists. Senior guard Kyah Watson ranks 81st in the nation in rebounds.

The Mountaineers have been dominant defensively, leading the nation with an average of 16.0 steals per game and holding a +14.8-turnover margin. They have forced 30-plus turnovers in three games this season and are averaging 87.6 points per game.

Quinerly is looking to break into the top 10 in career points scored and the top five in steals, currently sitting at 1,447 points and 248 steals. Harrison has scored 944 points in her career.
