No. 19 Utah Strikes Down Mountaineers


The West Virginia University volleyball team (8-18, 2-13 Big 12) suffered a 3-0 defeat against No. 19 Utah on Thursday night. Despite a strong performance from junior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim, who led the team with seven kills and five blocks, the Mountaineers were unable to secure a win. Senior outside hitter Hailey Green also contributed with eight kills. Graduate student Sydney Reed had 14 digs, and senior defensive specialist Kristen McBride achieved a career-high eight digs.

Throughout the match, West Virginia struggled to maintain a lead against Utah, eventually losing the first set 25-17, the second set 25-15, and the third set 25-16. The Mountaineers will now turn their focus to their upcoming game against No. 24 BYU on November 23 in Provo, Utah.
