Several stars of I’m a Celebrity’s 2024 season have been caught breaking the rules and attempting to bring banned items into camp. Dean McCullough smuggled in teabags while Melvin Odoom secretly brought in a packet of salt to flavor the bland rice and beans. This week, after a dingo dollar challenge, five cupcakes were confiscated as a consequence, resulting in the celebrities having fewer treats. Hosts Ant and Dec warned that contraband equals consequences, enjoying their revenge by taking away treats from the rule-breaking celebrities.
In addition to banned items, the celebrities are not allowed to have contact with the outside world. Despite this, some stars try to communicate with secret signs, like GK Barry painting an “E” on her fingernail to send a message to her girlfriend. However, behind the scenes, TV bosses keep the celebrities informed of any important news from their personal lives.
Other rules include not knowing the time in the jungle, with stars like Myleene Klass having to resort to building a sundial to keep track of time. Additional food items like salt and pepper are also not allowed, as the rice and beans diet is supposed to be bland and challenging for the contestants.
Former campmate Rita Simons revealed that stars are only allowed three pairs of pants, but she managed to smuggle in extras during her time on the show. Overall, the rules and regulations in the jungle are strict, with consequences for those who break them, adding an extra layer of challenge for the celebrities.
