Nordstrom’s flagship store in New York City has transformed into a winter wonderland this holiday season with the launch of “The Blizz on 57th Street.” The store’s interior has been taken over by inflatable characters voiced by celebrities like Fran Drescher and John Waters, bringing a unique and entertaining experience to shoppers.
The main character, Mr. Blizz, presides over the entrance and turns everyday objects into lively characters like Dimmy & Quasar, chatty lipsticks Rose, Ruby & Violet, and humble traffic cones Connor & Connie. Visitors can also interact with characters like Pigeonthia, a fortune-telling pigeon, and Wonder Ring, a token-operated machine dispensing whimsical rings.
The concept and characters were brought to life by a collective of creatives including the editor-in-chief of i-D Magazine and former creative director of Barneys New York. Nordstrom’s SVP of Creative Merchandising Olivia Kim expressed excitement about bringing this unique experience to visitors, combining the joy of the holidays with the spirit of New York.
In addition to the immersive experience inside the store, the annual Santa Snow Show will also take place from November 29 to December 24, featuring daily performances throughout the store. Nordstrom’s holiday activation aims to create an unforgettable experience for visitors, infusing the festive season with the magic of New York City.
Overall, Nordstrom’s holiday campaign at the 57th Street flagship store offers a one-of-a-kind experience for shoppers looking to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit this season.
