West Virginia’s football program has revealed a new turf design for Milan Puskar Stadium that will be installed before the 2025 season opener against Robert Morris on Aug. 30. The iconic gold Flying “WV” at the 50-yard line remains, but the wordmarks in the navy blue end zones have been replaced with the current typeface introduced in 2019. Additionally, two parallel stripes inspired by the team’s uniform design flank the wordmarks. The out-of-bounds areas behind the end zones and down the sidelines are now navy blue, a departure from the traditional white dating back to 1988.
This update to the turf is the first since 2016, when the Flying “WV” was enlarged and the placement of Big XII logos on the 25-yard lines was changed. The new design pays homage to the Mountaineers’ history and gives the stadium a fresh look for the upcoming season. Fans are excited to see the changes and are eager to support the team as they take the field in the updated Milan Puskar Stadium.
