Chad Chronister was President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Drug Enforcement Administration, however he announced on Tuesday that he would withdraw his name from consideration for the post. In a post on X, Chronister expressed his gratitude for the nomination but cited ongoing commitments to serving the people of Hillsborough County as the reason for his decision to decline the nomination. Trump had announced his intention to nominate Chronister as the next DEA administrator on Saturday. Chronister’s withdrawal from consideration comes as a surprise and it is unclear at this time who may be considered for the position in his place.
