Tyshawn Dues, a standout wide receiver from Hurricane High School in West Virginia, has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for West Virginia University. Dues, a consensus three-star recruit, has been a key player for Hurricane High’s offense and helped lead the team to the state semifinals.
With a grade of 86 from both On3 Sports and 24/7 Sports, Dues has been recognized as one of the top players in the state of West Virginia. He is ranked ahead of fellow signee Zah Jackson in the state and has been labeled as the number two overall player by 24/7 Sports.
WVU began recruiting Dues early on, offering him a scholarship in July 2023. The young athlete committed to the Mountaineers in September of the same year and chose WVU over late offers from Appalachian State and Toledo. Dues also received offers from schools such as Miami (Ohio), Kent State, and Akron.
West Virginia Football expressed their excitement for Dues joining the team on Twitter, welcoming him back to his home state with the hashtag #TakeMeHome25. With Dues’ talent and dedication to the game, he is expected to make a significant impact on the Mountaineers’ football program in the upcoming seasons.
