Five years ago, Boris Johnson and the Tories celebrated a massive majority in the general election, ensuring a decade of power. Fast forward to the present day, the Tories are a shadow of their former selves with only 121 MPs. The main lesson? People hated the Tories for wrecking the country. However, instead of reflecting on their mistakes, the Tories have chosen to live in an echo chamber led by Kemi Badenoch, out of touch with the country.
KemiKaze, as she is called, refuses to listen or learn from her mistakes, believing the problem with the Conservatives was not being Conservative enough. At a recent PMQs, she ranted about immigration, blaming Labour and ignoring the Tories’ responsibility. Keir Starmer tried to respond with reason, pointing out the flaws in her arguments, but only making Kemi angrier.
KemiKaze’s tirades at PMQs served no purpose and showed her disconnect from reality. She accused Labour of allowing rapists and murderers to offend again, while ignoring her own party’s failures. She attacked Starmer for standing up for Shamima Begum, despite connections to Lord Verdirame, involved in the case.
Starmer ended the session by asking Kemi to apologize for the lies and failures of the Tory party, to which she refused. Her refusal to acknowledge mistakes and her inability to change suggest a leader on the brink of self-destruction, benefitting Labour in the process. The irony of KemiKaze’s flaws being on display for all to see highlights the chaos within the Tory party under her leadership.
