Jason Kelce will not face charges in incident where he was seen smashing someone’s phone

Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce will not face charges for smashing someone’s cellphone outside Penn State University’s Beaver Stadium last month. The altercation occurred during a football game between Penn State and Ohio State, with Kelce appearing to retaliate against a fan who used a homophobic slur against his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. In videos verified by NBC News, Kelce is seen grabbing the man’s phone, smashing it, and then picking it up again before walking away. Another angle shows the man chasing Kelce and asking for his phone back, with Kelce repeating the slur back to him. The Penn State police department has closed the case as the individual in the video has not been identified and no complaints have been made about property damage. Kelce apologized on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown,” expressing regret for responding with hate in a heated moment. Kelce works as a commentator for ESPN since retiring from football and was at the game as part of the network’s “College GameDay.” ESPN has not commented on the incident.
