Final Dual of the Season Features West Virginia vs. Penn State


The West Virginia University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are gearing up to face off against Penn State in their final dual meet of the season on Saturday, Feb. 1. The men’s team recently secured a win against Villanova, while the women’s team defeated Duquesne but fell short against Villanova.

In the diving well, four Mountaineers have qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in multiple events. Freshman Levi Hellman, sophomore Owen Recker, senior Sarah Krusinski, and junior Abigail Sullivan have all achieved qualification.

Senior Conner McBeth has been a standout performer for the men’s team, winning two individual events in his final home meet. Meanwhile, sophomore Maddie Smutny has been leading the way for the women’s team, winning the 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle events in recent competitions.

Supporters can contribute to the Swimming & Diving Sport Enhancement Fund, which helps cover equipment purchases, team travel, recruiting costs, and other expenses for the teams.
