The WVU community is invited to a Mental Health First Aid training on March 7 hosted by WELLWVU and the West Virginia Collegiate Initiative to Advance Healthy Campus Communities. The training will take place on Zoom from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will learn a five-step action plan to help individuals experiencing mental health or substance abuse challenges. Prior to the instructor-led session, attendees must complete two hours of online learning. Space is limited, so those interested should register to secure a spot. For more information, contact Wes Thomas at wthomas2@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-3573. This international program is evidence-based and aims to equip participants with the tools to identify and interact with individuals in need of mental health support. Mental Health First Aid is an important skill that can benefit both the individual receiving assistance and the community as a whole. Join the training to learn how you can make a difference in someone’s life.
