West Virginia University at Parkersburg Developing New Innovation and Technology Center in Collaboration with Mid-Ohio Valley Foundations | Latest Updates on News, Sports, and Job Opportunities

West Virginia University at Parkersburg President Torie Jackson is overseeing the renovation of the former Ohio Valley University Stott Administration Building into the new Innovation and Technology Center. The building is expected to open in phases starting in the fall of 2025. The $10 million project, funded in part by a $4.6 million gift from The Ross Foundation, will house educational programs, including computer science, cyber security, and short-term technical courses.

The WVUP Foundation is also planning to offer a variety of amenities at the site, including a podcast studio, additive and subtractive manufacturing facilities, daycare services for up to 120 children, as well as spaces for businesses to lease. In addition, plans are being made to create exterior entryways, parking, and recreational spaces like playgrounds and courts for basketball and pickleball.

The project has the potential to transform Vienna by providing educational opportunities, housing developments, and business opportunities for the community. The university is excited about the project and the positive impact it will have on the area.
