In a hard-fought battle, the Jacksonville Baseball team fell to the West Virginia Mountaineers with a final score of 4-2. Senior Richard Long put in a strong effort on the mound for Jacksonville, but ultimately took the loss. Junior Alex Walsh also delivered a solid performance out of the bullpen, throwing two scoreless innings. Offensively, senior Josh Steidl led the charge for the Dolphins, going 2-for-4 with a home run. Senior Aidan Masters and junior Chandler Howard also made notable contributions at the plate.
The Dolphins managed to break through with their first run in the fifth inning and added another run in the ninth with Steidl’s homer. Despite their efforts, Jacksonville was unable to close the gap further.
