West Virginia and Kansas State to Face Off on Presidents Day

The No. 18-ranked West Virginia University women’s basketball team is gearing up to face No. 14 Kansas State on Monday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. ET in the WVU Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on the Mountaineer Sports Network and FOX, marking the team’s fourth national TV game of the season. Both teams have impressive records and it will be a highly anticipated matchup.

The Mountaineers encourage fans to wear gold for a “Gold Rush” event, and all attendees will receive a Gold “Let’s Go” Mountaineers poster. The game will feature Kellogg’s happy hour with half-off select beverages and concessions for students.

West Virginia has a strong defense, limiting opponents to just 53.5 points per game, while Kansas State boasts the best offense in the conference, scoring 81.3 points per game. Key players to watch include Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year, Ayoka Lee, who is out with an injury, and Serena Sundell for KSU.

The Mountaineers are led by senior guard JJ Quinerly and junior guard Jordan Harrison, who have been instrumental in the team’s success this season. West Virginia has shown dominance on the court, forcing turnovers in every game and leading the country in steals per game.

Quinerly currently ranks fifth on the all-time scoring list for West Virginia and is a standout player to watch. With an average scoring margin of 23.9 points, the Mountaineers are prepared to put up a strong fight against Kansas State in what promises to be an exciting and competitive game.
