On February 28th, the Ohio baseball team faced off against West Virginia in a tough 8-4 loss. Despite the effort, Ohio sophomore Jack Geiser took the loss with two strikeouts for the team. West Virginia took an early lead with a triple and double in the first inning, further extending their lead with a double in the third. Ohio managed to get on the board in the fourth inning with a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly. However, West Virginia continued to dominate with runs in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings, ultimately defeating Ohio. Sophomore Trae Cassidy stood out with two hits, including a double, for Ohio. The team will have a chance to bounce back on Friday as they prepare to face Butler in their first home series of the season.
