Jordan Dove, 34, was killed by a shotgun booby trap set up in a vacant home in South Carolina. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident and discovered that the home belonged to one of Dove’s family members. Alfonzo Brown, who is currently incarcerated, is expected to face charges in connection with the incident.
The sheriff’s office stated that the home was believed to be booby-trapped, with a shotgun rigged to go off when someone attempted to enter. The front door was also barricaded shut, and no other occupants were found inside the residence.
Sheriff Thomas Summers emphasized the danger faced by law enforcement in such situations and noted that this incident appeared to be targeted at them. He also reassured the public that there is currently no threat to their safety.
The investigation is ongoing, but authorities have not released any further information at this time. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face every day in the line of duty.
