The offseason for West Virginia football is in full swing, with new head coach Rich Rodriguez at the helm and a lot of changes happening within the program. Several players have hit the transfer portal and some have decided to leave the program, while others are sticking around. Additionally, many players from different programs are visiting WVU to explore the possibility of playing for the Mountaineers.
As of January 26, 2025, the following players have left the program: quarterback Ryder Burton, running backs CJ Donaldson Jr. and Jaylen Anderson, wide receivers Ric’Darious Farmer, Hudson Clement, and Traylon Ray, tight end Will Dixon, offensive linemen Aiden Ellis, Bryce Biggs, Donovan Grayson, Kyle Altuner, Lucas Austin, Johnny Williams, Sullivan Weidman, and Tomas Rimac, defensive lineman Derek Berlitz, linebackers Josiah Trotter, Trey Lathan, and Tyler Cain, cornerback TJ Crandall and Ayden Garnes, safeties Josiah Jackson, Raleigh Collins, and Jaheem Joseph, athlete Trey Bowers, and receivers Preston Fox and Treylan Davis have retired.
On the other hand, there have been several transfers in, including quarterbacks Jaylen Henderson and Max Brown, running backs LJ Turner and Tye Edwards, wide receivers Oran Singleton Jr., Jarod Bowie, Cyrus Traugh, Cam Vaughn, and Jeffrey Weimer, tight ends Jacob Barrick and Johnny Pascuzzi, offensive linemen Walter Young Bear, Kimo Makane’ole, Wyatt Minor, Robby Martin, Ty’Kieast Crawford, and William Reed, defensive ends Braden Siders, Keenan Eck, and Jimmori Robinson, linebackers Ashton Woods and Chase Wilson, cornerbacks Jordan Scruggs, Derek Carter, Michael Coats Jr., Devontae Golden-Nelson, and Jason Chambers, safeties Jordan Walker, Fred Perry, Justin Harrington, and William Davis, and kicker Ethan Head.
