West Virginia baseball fans are celebrating their team’s perfect 11-0 start to the 2025 season after a dominant 11-1 win over Queens University (NC) on Sunday. The Mountaineers showcased their powerful offense once again, scoring nine runs in the final three innings of the game. All-time home run leader Grant Hussey and infielder Brodie Kresser both contributed home runs in the victory.
Pitcher Gavin Van Kempen earned his second win of the season, allowing just one earned run in five innings. The defense also shined with standout plays from leftfielder Michael Perazza and Van Kempen himself.
Newcomer Jace “Rhino” Rinehart made a significant impact with a bases-clearing double, contributing three RBIs to the win. Sam White extended his hit streak to eight games, showing his importance to the offense.
WVU will go for their third straight series sweep on Monday against Queens. The team looks poised to continue their winning streak and remain undefeated in the 2025 season.
