Former West Virginia Head Coach Neal Brown Hired by Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns have made a new addition to their coaching staff for the upcoming 2025 season, hiring former West Virginia head coach Neal Brown. Brown, who was fired by West Virginia at the end of the 2024 season, brings his offensive expertise to Texas, likely focusing on the quarterback position. Brown had a 37-35 record in his six years at West Virginia and previously served as head coach at Troy. He will join Texas alongside former West Virginia running backs coach Chad Scott.

While Brown’s exact role with Texas has not been announced yet, it is expected that his offensive prowess will be a valuable asset for the Longhorns. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian likely brought Brown on board due to his experience with quarterbacks. The Longhorns faced Brown’s West Virginia team four times in the Big 12, with Brown holding a 1-3 record against Texas.

Texas will kick off their 2025 season against defending national champion Ohio State, and fans are eager to see how Brown’s impact will be felt on the team. With the addition of Brown and other recent hires, Texas is looking to make a strong statement in the upcoming season.
