McCabe Chosen to Participate in 3,000m Race at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.


Ceili McCabe, a graduate student from West Virginia University track and field team, has been chosen to participate in the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 14-15. The event will take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, starting at 9:15 a.m. ET. McCabe secured a spot in the women’s 3,000-meter final race and will compete on March 15 at 4 p.m. The championship will be broadcasted live on ESPNU and live stats will be available on WVUsports.com.

McCabe recently won the women’s 3,000 meters at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 9:07.56. She also helped WVU’s distance medley relay team set a meet record with a time of 11:09.42, leading the team to their highest finish in the indoor championship history in fourth place. McCabe currently holds the tenth spot in the nation for the 3,000 meters with a personal and program record time of 8:45.97.

This will be McCabe’s fourth time competing at the national championship, with her best finish being sixth in the mile during the 2024 season. She has earned a total of eight All-America honors and is looking to add to her accolades in this year’s competition. The final start list for the championship will be available on March 12 on NCAA.com.
