West Virginia University Athletics has announced a new Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) per seat contribution model for season tickets in the WVU Coliseum starting in the 2025-26 season. The revamped seating model for men’s basketball aims to simplify and make purchasing season tickets more equitable for fans, aligning with the football season ticket model.
MAC members will now have increased transparency when making decisions on parking, benefits, and season tickets. The per seat contribution will also be combined with other donations to determine overall Mountaineer Athletic Club membership level, enhancing MAC priority ranking for seating and parking selections.
Under this new model, 30% of season ticket holders will see no increase or even a decrease in their overall season ticket cost. 50% will see an increase of less than $250. New season ticket buyers will see a 25% decrease in the “get in” price in select areas.
WVU Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker emphasized the need for innovation and strategic planning as collegiate athletics undergo significant changes. The new model aims to align WVU with the majority of Power 4 schools, offering fair and affordable ticket options while increasing access to prime seating locations.
Resources will be available to guide fans through the transition, including a landing page with information, a pricing calculator, and one-on-one consultations with Account Managers. For the 2026-27 Men’s Basketball season, WVU will conduct a seat adjustment to provide flexibility within the new pricing structure.
