Small plane crash in Pennsylvania residential area leaves 5 injured

All five individuals aboard a small plane that crashed in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, survived the incident and were taken to hospitals. The plane, a Beechcraft Bonanza, had just taken off from Lancaster Airport when it went down in a retirement community. Emergency crews responded quickly to the crash, which resulted in no injuries on the ground but damaged five vehicles. Three of the individuals were taken to a burn center, while two remained at Lancaster General Hospital. Investigators are looking into reports of an open door on the aircraft as a potential cause of the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board has opened an investigation into the incident. Despite the severity of the crash, the fact that everyone survived and no one on the ground was hurt was considered a positive outcome by officials. The aircraft is registered to an entity in Manheim and typically can carry up to six people. The scene was under control a few hours after the crash, with first responders containing the fires and preventing damage to nearby structures. Residents in the area were initially instructed to shelter in place as a precaution. The FAA and other federal officials will continue to investigate the crash to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
