Officials confirm federal aid approved for 10 counties in West Virginia


President Donald Trump has approved Public Assistance for ten additional counties in West Virginia to help with recovery efforts following fatal floods in February. Governor Patrick Morrisey’s request for Federal Emergency Management Aid was granted for Greenbrier, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Summers, Wayne and Wyoming counties. The funding will be used for infrastructure repairs, debris removal, and emergency protective measures. Morrisey thanked President Trump for his support throughout the recovery process. Individual Assistance has also been approved for residents in Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne, and Wyoming counties. Those needing help can apply for assistance through FEMA’s website. The additional federal assistance will play a crucial role in helping southern West Virginia recover from the devastating floods.
