Seton Hall University’s Pirates Pitch, a major annual Venture Fund Competition event, showcased technological success on April 2, 2025. The event, coordinated by Susan Scherreik, featured students pitching innovative business ideas to expert judges in a Shark Tank-style setting. The event was live-streamed with high-quality production thanks to the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC) and the Digital Media Team.

Students from the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media played significant roles in the event’s production, showcasing their real-world experience and technical skills gained through Seton Hall’s media and communication programs.
Christopher Petruzzi, director of Design and Digital Media, highlighted the use of cutting-edge technology, such as the Tricaster TC-1 for live switching, in creating a dynamic live broadcast. The 2025 Pirates Pitch event exemplified interdisciplinary collaboration and showcased the technical and creative talents of students and staff.
Livestreamed on the University’s YouTube channel, the event allowed for virtual participation by alumni, families, and the public. By integrating technology into high-impact, real-world learning, Seton Hall demonstrated its commitment to creating immersive and collaborative experiences for students. This year’s Pirates Pitch was a behind-the-scenes success that highlighted the university’s ability to elevate campus events through technological innovation.
