Q-Free ATMS installed along rural roads in West Virginia

The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) has recently implemented Q-Free’s Kinetic Mobility advanced traffic management system (ATMS) across 35,000 miles of state roads in all 55 counties. The system, which includes modules such as Event Management, Signs, and Video, is open standards compatible and can be integrated with other state agencies and systems, such as the West Virginia Parkways Authority and the state’s 511 system.

Q-Free states that Kinetic Mobility is the first scalable ATMS platform that brings all ITS devices into a single decision-making dashboard, eliminating the need for patchwork solutions. The system’s enhanced automation features aim to reduce human error, allow operators to focus on more complex tasks, and expedite the dissemination of critical information to the public.

CEO Mark Talbot highlights that other customers of Q-Free appreciate Kinetic Mobility for its ability to replace multiple traffic management systems with a cost-effective solution that offers only the modules needed by agencies. This deployment promises to improve traffic management and enhance communication with the public in West Virginia.
