Pembroke Pines, FL – Jacob Thomas, a 2027 wide receiver from Flanagan High School, is making waves in the college football landscape. Committed to the University of Pittsburgh since March, the 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete recently received a scholarship offer from West Virginia, sparking excitement for his future.
“I was very excited man. I feel like I’m getting everything I’m working hard for; this doesn’t come easy and it’s not given, it’s earned,” Thomas stated. The offer came after a conversation with his head coach, reinforcing that the Mountaineers are serious about recruiting him.
Wide receivers coach Logan Bradley is leading the charge for the West Virginia program. He emphasized the importance of maintaining communication, promising to stay in touch weekly, which resonated with Thomas. “That automatically stood out to me,” he said, noting his desire for a supportive coaching environment that balances athletics with academics.
The Mountaineers envision Thomas as a slot receiver, leveraging his speed and ability to create separation. He plans to visit West Virginia along with other schools including Pittsburgh, Florida State, Auburn, Maryland, Louisville, and UCF to explore his options.
