West Virginia Football Offensive Lineman Chosen on Day Two of NFL Draft

Wyatt Milum Selected by Jaguars in NFL Draft, Continuing WVU’s Legacy of Talented Linemen

In the wake of the Neal Brown era at West Virginia University, the program has produced promising talent, especially on the offensive line. Wyatt Milum, a native of Kenova, W.Va., was chosen in the 2025 NFL Draft, becoming the 25th pick of Round Three (89th overall) by the Jacksonville Jaguars. His selection marks the second consecutive year a Mountaineer offensive lineman has been drafted on Day 2.

Neal Brown expressed his pride in Milum, stating, "Extremely excited for Wyatt and his entire family. I believe he’s a first-round player, and his college tape backs that up." Milum’s immense character, work ethic, and teamwork were highlighted, with Brown predicting a successful NFL career for the young lineman.

Milum is the third offensive lineman from West Virginia University to enter the NFL over the past two seasons. Last year, center Zach Frazier was drafted in the second round by the Pittsburgh Steelers, joining former teammate Doug Nester on the roster.

This past season, Milum earned the title of Consensus All-American, the fourth player from WVU to achieve this honor. He anchored an offensive line that ranked among the top 10 in rushing yards per game among power conference teams. Remarkably, during the 2024 season, he allowed no quarterback hurries and just seven pressures, earning recognition as the third-best offensive tackle in college football according to Pro Football Focus.

Although listed as a guard on draft boards, Milum may transition from tackle to guard in the NFL, facing concerns over arm length and physical attributes. His journey marks an exciting chapter in the ongoing narrative of West Virginia’s football talent on a national stage.
