8 Undrafted West Virginia Football Players Secure NFL Opportunities

WVU Football Players Thrive After 2025 NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft has concluded, marking a significant moment for two standout players from West Virginia University (WVU). Offensive lineman Wyatt Milum and former Mountaineer wide receiver Kaden Prather were drafted, highlighting the talent emerging from WVU. However, of the 17 eligible Mountaineers, many players were left undrafted. This challenge, while daunting, is not insurmountable as several athletes are seizing their opportunity to join NFL teams.

Historically, undrafted players can and do make NFL rosters, typically through free-agent signings or summer camp invitations. A recent success story from WVU is Beanie Bishop Jr., a consensus All-American who was overlooked in the 2024 draft but signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. His determination led him to secure a roster spot, becoming an impactful player in the Steelers’ secondary.

Following the 2025 draft, eight WVU players have found opportunities in professional football, either as undrafted free agents or through mini-camp invites. Among those who signed with NFL teams are Fatorma Mulbah with the New York Jets, Garnett Hollis Jr. with the Tennessee Titans, and Kole Taylor with the Cincinnati Bengals. T.J. Jackson secured a spot with the Seattle Seahawks, while Garrett Greene attracted interest from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Austin Brinkman is heading to the Houston Texans.

Additionally, Nick Malone will attend rookie mini-camp with the Miami Dolphins, and Ty French has garnered an invite from the San Francisco 49ers. As these Mountaineers embark on their professional journeys, the future looks bright for WVU football, showcasing the depth of talent ready to compete at the highest level.
