Kade Hensley Transfers to West Virginia, Aims for Big 12 Championship
Morgantown, WV – Coastal Carolina transfer kicker Kade Hensley has joined West Virginia University for his final season of eligibility, following four impactful years with the Chanticleers. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 190 pounds, Hensley expressed excitement about competing in front of the Mountaineers’ passionate fan base of 60,000 and playing under Coach Rod.
"I’m thrilled to get to work on bringing back a Big 12 championship,” he stated. Hensley was drawn to WVU not only because of its strong football culture but also due to the excellent facilities and equipment available for athletes. He quickly built a rapport with special teams coordinator Pat Kirkland during the recruiting process, leading to his decision to make the move.
Throughout his career, Hensley has made 34 of 43 field goal attempts, with a long of 49 yards, showcasing his consistency as a “steady hand” on the field.
Having grown up in the mountains of Tennessee, Hensley feels a sense of belonging as he embarks on this new chapter with the Mountaineers. "I can’t wait for this season," he said, expressing his commitment to making every kick count.
