East St. Louis WR Laron Baker Receives Offer from West Virginia
East St. Louis wide receiver Laron Baker, a 2027 prospect standing 6-foot-0 and weighing 170 pounds, has received an offer from the West Virginia Mountaineers, adding to his already impressive list of suitors that includes Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan State, and Boston College. Baker, a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com, expressed excitement about the opportunity, citing his admiration for West Virginia’s history of producing dynamic receivers like Tavon Austin.
The Mountaineers’ wide receivers coach, Ryan Garrett, attended one of Baker’s practices, where he was impressed by the young athlete’s exceptional route running and speed. “They feel that I’m an amazing young talent with unique abilities,” Baker remarked.
Eager to explore his options further, Baker plans to visit West Virginia to engage with the coaching staff and tour the facilities. Additionally, he is interested in Mississippi, Missouri, Oregon, and LSU. As the recruitment process continues, Baker seeks a program that balances a family-oriented culture with strong coaching and a successful track record. “Somewhere I can advance my game to the next level,” he noted.
