MORGANTOWN, WV – Rich Rodriguez is making an immediate impact upon his return to West Virginia University, hitting the ground running in recruiting efforts. Recent additions to the Mountaineers include offensive tackle Ayden Bussell, edge rusher Devin Grant, wide receiver Logan Ramper, and defensive lineman Elijah Simmons, who are poised to strengthen the team for the 2025 season.

Ayden Bussell, a transfer from Tennessee, arrives as a redshirt sophomore with three years of eligibility. Rodriguez has emphasized the need for depth and experience in the offensive line, which now boasts 22 players. Bussell, with his SEC background, brings valuable perspectives on competing at a high level, essential for nurturing younger teammates.

Devin Grant, who previously played at Colorado and then at the FCS level with Incarnate Word, adds crucial depth in the trenches. Standing at 6’3” and 225 pounds, Grant registered notable statistics, making him a potential contributor as a rotational player in Zac Alley’s defense.

Logan Ramper, transferring from Slippery Rock, is a 6’4”, 215-pound wide receiver who excelled in the Division II league, posting 42 receptions for 748 yards and eight touchdowns last season. His size and catch radius could provide a significant advantages in red-zone situations, potentially making him a pivotal asset for the quarterback.

Lastly, Elijah Simmons joins the team after a stint at Garden City Community College and previously at Kent State. At 6’2” and 280 pounds, he adds depth to the defensive line, with hopes of earning a role, albeit primarily as a backup.

As Rodriguez continues to build momentum through strategic transfers, these newcomers may play crucial roles in elevating the performance of the Mountaineers in the upcoming season.
