West Virginia Football Announces 2025 Game Times and Broadcast Details

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 29, 2024) – The Big 12 Conference and ESPN have revealed the game times and broadcast partners for West Virginia University’s first three football games of the 2025 season, along with an exciting Friday night match against BYU.

Coach Rich Rodriguez’s second stint with the Mountaineers kicks off on Saturday, August 30, at 2 p.m. ET, with a home game against Robert Morris, marking the inaugural matchup between the two teams on ESPN+. The Mountaineers will visit Ohio University on September 6 at 4 p.m. ET, with the game aired on ESPNU. This meeting is historic, being the first encounter in Athens since 1949.

The highly anticipated "Backyard Brawl" against rival Pittsburgh occurs on September 13 at 3:30 p.m. ET, also at Milan Puskar Stadium, and will be broadcast on ESPN. This game is particularly significant as it concludes the current series before a new contract begins in 2029.

Additionally, West Virginia’s game at BYU is set for Friday, October 3, at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Season tickets for the six-game home schedule are now on sale, including the cost-effective 304 Mobile Pass option for $304, offering fans varied seating for the season. Note that due to high demand, single-game tickets for the Pitt contest will not be available separately.
