Another Suspect Arrested in Connection with Super Bowl Reporter’s Death in New Orleans

A third person, Christian Anderson, has been arrested in connection with the death of Adan Manzano, a Super Bowl reporter, in New Orleans, revealing what authorities describe as an organized scheme to drug and rob individuals. Anderson is accused of renting the car used by Danette Colbert, one of the two previously charged suspects, and providing logistical support in the crime. Colbert, 48, has been labeled a “serial fraudster” by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, with a history of similar offenses involving drugging victims and stealing their assets.

Investigators found text messages and communications indicating that Anderson actively participated in a coordinated effort to target victims, administer drugs, and steal personal belongings. He faces multiple charges, including simple robbery and fraud. It remains unclear whether he has legal representation.

Manzano, 27, was in New Orleans for the Super Bowl and was last seen with Colbert before being found dead in a hotel room. Authorities cited a toxic combination of alprazolam (Xanax) and ethanol as contributing factors to his death, and it is unknown how these substances entered his system. A device believed to be Manzano’s cellphone was found at Colbert’s residence, and she allegedly used his credit card for purchases.

Rickey White, 34, another accomplice, was arrested in Florida and extradited to Louisiana, facing second-degree murder charges. Colbert has a troubling history, including a prior conviction for fraud related to drugging a victim. Despite the gravity of her actions, she received a sentence of five years’ probation prior to Manzano’s death, which was later increased to 25 years following new insights into her habitual offenses. Victim David Butler expressed hope that this decision brings justice and peace to others affected by Colbert’s actions.
