WVU Parkersburg to Open New Student Housing at Innovation and Technology Center

VIENNA — West Virginia University at Parkersburg (WVUP) is set to launch on-campus residence halls at its new Innovation and Technology Center (ITC) this August. The WVUP Foundation has been renovating the former Ohio Valley University residence halls to create The Residences at ITC, which will provide 55 units—28 for female and 27 for male students.

These modern living accommodations will feature amenities such as beds, desks, wardrobes, sinks, on-site laundry, and free Wi-Fi. WVUP Foundation President Olivia Reeder expressed that this initiative aims to enhance student access and support success by addressing housing insecurity for students living beyond commuting distances.

The residence halls are part of a broader transformation at WVUP as it prepares to offer high-demand programs in tech and engineering fields, including Cybersecurity and Computer Science. Costs for the renovation are estimated at $500,000, with professional management ensured by the Pickering Land Group.

"We’re positioning WVUP to attract a diverse student body and create a vibrant campus community," Reeder stated. Students interested in the housing can inquire through the WVUP Foundation at 304-424-8340.
