Press Release
Richmond, Va. – Jaerron Johnson, a promising wide receiver from St. Christopher’s High School, has received a scholarship offer from West Virginia University. Standing at 6-foot, 165 pounds, Johnson was thrilled to learn about the opportunity during a visit from the Mountaineers’ inside wide receivers coach, Logan Bradley.
“I was simply happy and grateful,” Johnson expressed, describing the moment as a significant blessing in his life. Although initially unfamiliar with the university beyond the popular song “Country Roads,” he has since developed a strong connection with the coaching staff.
Last season, Johnson recorded approximately 500 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while contributing to a run-heavy offense. He anticipates a more expansive passing game this upcoming season, expecting to improve those numbers. In addition to his wide receiver duties, Johnson plans to play safety and envisions a dual-sport career in football and baseball at the collegiate level.
Johnson has also fielded offers from schools like Penn State, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. As he navigates his summer schedule, he hopes to visit West Virginia and identify a university that offers both athletic and academic success.
