Naukot Leads Mountaineers at Penn Relays
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team showcased impressive performances at the Penn Relays on Thursday night, highlighted by freshman Joy Naukot’s remarkable debut in the women’s 5,000 meters. Competing at the historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Naukot secured second place with a time of 15:49.37, making a significant mark by entering No. 4 on West Virginia’s outdoor all-time list.
In addition to Naukot’s stellar performance, sophomore Tecla Lokrale finished 57th in the same event, clocking in at 17:31.31. Freshman Naomi Kemboi also made her collegiate debut, competing in the 1,500 meters and recording a time of 4:30.72.
