NoMad Hotels Announces Exciting Addition in Detroit, Set to Open in 2027
Detroit, Michigan – NoMad Hotels, a distinguished part of Hilton’s global hospitality portfolio, is set to launch a new hotel in Detroit’s revitalized Michigan Central Station. The hotel is slated to open its doors in 2027, marking another significant milestone in the city’s ongoing redevelopment efforts.
Located within the 30-acre technology and cultural hub known as The Station at Michigan Central, the NoMad property will occupy the top five floors of the historic building, which was inaugurated in 1913. This will be the first time floors 14-18 will be used, transforming a once-abandoned passenger rail station into a vibrant destination.
Josh Sirefman, CEO of Michigan Central, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating that NoMad’s dedication to integrating into culturally rich environments aligns perfectly with the vision for The Station. “This partnership continues our mission to turn The Station into a global destination that serves residents and attracts visitors,” he noted.
The NoMad Detroit will feature approximately 180 guest rooms, including 30 luxury suites, and will provide wellness facilities and a range of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. The hotel’s design will be a collaboration with local artists, reflecting the unique character of Detroit.
Kara Randall, vice president of Hilton Luxury and Mixed-use Development, highlighted the importance of this project within Hilton’s expanding luxury portfolio. With plans for luxury hotels in locations such as Egypt and Singapore, the NoMad Detroit represents a key addition, further solidifying Hilton’s commitment to unique, community-oriented developments.
Scheduled for completion shortly after the June 2024 opening of The Station, this venture positions Detroit as an emerging global travel destination, attracting both multinational corporations and creative entrepreneurs.
