West Virginia University Football Welcomes 24 New Players for 2025 Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University football coach Rich Rodriguez has announced the signing of 24 student-athletes joining the Mountaineer Football program for the 2025 season. This committed group reflects a diverse talent pool with players hailing from various states and positions.

Key highlights include Malik Agbo, a 6’4”, 270-pound offensive lineman from Texas, who previously contributed to Texas’ offensive line and played 32 games. Another notable addition is Grayson Barnes, a tight end from California who led Northern Illinois with four touchdown receptions last season. The roster also features running back Jaylan Knighton from SMU, who had an impressive 745 yards last season and is known for his explosive plays.

Defensively, linebacker Ben Bogle, previously with Southern Illinois, earned All-American honors and aims to bolster the Mountaineer’s defensive unit. Also, after a successful stint at Dodge City Community College, Kaleb Gray brings experience as a defensive back.

Positions across the roster have been filled; offensive linemen like Josh Aisosa and Donovan Haslam aim to enhance the team’s protection scheme. Meanwhile, wide receivers Christian Hamilton and Justin Smith-Brown showcase significant potential, having demonstrated their matchup strengths at their former programs.

These signings underline Coach Rodriguez’s strategy to blend experience and youth, enhancing competitiveness for the season ahead. With a focus on recruiting players who can immediately impact the team, WVU aims to improve on the previous year’s performance in the ever-challenging college football landscape.

The Mountaineers are gearing up for an exciting future as these young talents prepare to develop into key contributors starting in 2025.
