WVU Community Invited to Mental Health First Aid Training
The West Virginia University (WVU) community is encouraged to participate in a comprehensive Mental Health First Aid training session on July 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., via Zoom. Organized by WELLWVU and the West Virginia Collegiate Initiative to Advance Healthy Campus Communities, this international, evidence-based program equips participants with a five-step action plan to effectively identify and support individuals facing mental health or substance use challenges.
Prior to the instructor-led session, participants must complete two hours of self-guided online learning. Given the limited number of seats available, early registration is recommended.
For more information or to register, interested individuals can contact Wes Thomas, health educator with WELLWVU, at wthomas2@mail.wvu.edu or by phone at 304-293-3573. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your skills in promoting mental health and well-being on campus!
