Press Release: WVU Rifle Team Shines with Scholastic All-America Honors
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (June 6, 2025) – West Virginia University’s rifle team continues to excel academically and athletically, as four members have been named to the prestigious 2025 Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholastic All-America team. The selected athletes are senior Natalie Perrin, sophomores Maximus Duncan and Lauri Syrja, and freshman Jennifer Kocher.
Established in 1991, the Scholastic All-America honors recognize student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic performance alongside their commitment to the sport. This year’s recognition marks the 27th occasion that four or more Mountaineers have achieved this distinguished accolade, showcasing WVU’s long-standing tradition of excellence in collegiate rifle shooting. To date, the University has proudly placed 177 athletes on the Scholastic All-America team since its inception.
Among the honorees, Natalie Perrin stands out with her fourth selection, reflecting her consistent dedication to both her studies and sport. Meanwhile, Maximus Duncan and Lauri Syrja celebrate their second recognition, while newcomer Jennifer Kocher joins the ranks with her first Scholastic All-America honor.
