Ohio Dominates in 30th Annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis All-Star Classic

ST. MARYS – The Ohio team celebrated a decisive 23-0 victory over West Virginia in the 30th annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis All-Star Classic held at Bill Hanlin Stadium on Friday night. Former Marietta Tiger Seth Britton stood out, rushing for 115 yards on 19 carries and scoring two touchdowns, earning him the MVP title for Ohio.

The game started with Ohio capitalizing on its strong field position after a 48-yard punt from Evan Lough pinned West Virginia deep. Britton began his scoring spree with a six-yard touchdown run, quickly followed by a successful two-point conversion, giving Ohio an early 8-0 lead. As the game progressed, the Ohio defense, led by players familiar with head coach Eric Huck’s system, stifled West Virginia, allowing just 130 total yards.

Additional scoring included a nine-yard touchdown run by Britton and a five-yard rush by Blake Wayble in the fourth quarter. West Virginia’s MVP Braden Haught impressed with a 42-yard average on five punts. Coach Huck expressed gratitude for the event, highlighting its significance for a worthy cause as Ohio secured its 14th win in the Classic’s history.
